Professor at the Faculty of Organizational Studies "Eduka," Prof. Dr. Ivana Jošanov-Vrgović, together with her colleagues, has published a scientific paper that provides new insights into one of the most important issues of the contemporary work environment – how stress affects job satisfaction and employee work performance.

As part of the research, a new scale was developed and validated – Stress Symptoms Survey (SSS), which measures physical and psychological symptoms of stress through 18 carefully constructed items. This instrument represents a significant contribution to the scientific community as well as a practical tool for assessing stress in organizations.

The study results showed that the lack of organizational support is the strongest predictor of reduced job satisfaction, while, interestingly, a moderate level of job pressure had a positive effect on satisfaction, provided that other stressors are under control. In other words, a healthy dose of challenge can be stimulating, but the absence of support and understanding has far-reaching negative consequences.

The authors emphasize that these findings are important not only for the academic community but also for managers and human resources professionals. A supportive work culture has proven to be a key factor in preserving employees' mental health, reducing stress, raising motivation, and achieving sustainable performance.
